Tanka
A tanka is another poetry type related to the haiku. The first three lines are unrhymed. They have a syllable count of five, seven, five like the haiku. But the last two lines both have seven syllables. So the syllable count is: (5, 7, 5, 7, 7)
Example
Tares or Sheaves
Souls are merely seeds 5 syllables
growing in a vast garden 7 syllables
justly pruned by life 5 syllables
watered by tears of passion 7 syllables
harvested in due season 7 syllables

Soul's Unseen Orchids
Unexpectedly,
Stars are falling within us
Growing tiny roots
With feeble stems out of which
Unseen orchids are blooming.
