Downfall Of Man
When God proclaimed the birth of man, 8 Syllables
from His image sprang Adam's clan, 8 Syllables
who gave a rib for woman's hand; 8 Syllables
downfall of man, downfall of man. 8 Syllables - repeat
They roamed the Garden worry free, 8 Syllables
content to live and let things be, 8 Syllables
and just one rule God asked of thee; 8 Syllables
don't touch that tree, don't touch that tree. 8 Syllables - repeat
To Adam, ignorance was bliss, 8 Syllables
he questioned not just what was this, 8 Syllables
and turned away from evil hiss; 8 Syllables
all for Eve's kiss, all for Eve's kiss. 8 Syllables - repeat
'Twas Eve who heard the serpent speak, 8 Syllables
that knowledge was the thing to seek, 8 Syllables
to eat the fruit, temptation's peak; 8 Syllables
resolve was weak, resolve was weak. 8 Syllables - repeat
Eve's innocence was stripped, defiled, 8 Syllables
as Satan's forked tongue beguiled, 8 Syllables
unwittingly, sweet taste reviled; 8 Syllables
and damned her child, and damned her child. 8 Syllables - repeat
The gloom of man when he's deceived, 8 Syllables
foresaken trust when he believed, 8 Syllables
from Adam's choice all mankind grieved; 8 Syllables
because of Eve, because of Eve. 8 Syllables - repeat
Cast from the Garden in despair, 8 Syllables
iniquity born of this pair, 8 Syllables
when Satan speaks you must beware; 8 Syllables
temptation there, temptation there. 8 Syllables - repeat
Man still has hope, strength from within, 8 Syllables
Christ gave his blood to cleanse this sin, 8 Syllables
thwart Satan's hold, he will not win; 8 Syllables
be born again, be born again. 8 Syllables - repeat
And when you're faced with sure defeat, 8 Syllables
listen when told what not to eat, 8 Syllables
taste of defiance, bittersweet; 8 Syllables
sin to repeat, sin to repeat. 8 Syllables - repeat
When God proclaimed the birth of man, 8 Syllables
from His image sprang Adam's clan, 8 Syllables
who gave a rib for woman's hand; 8 Syllables
downfall of man, downfall of man. 8 Syllables - repeat

Goodbye Butterfly
I found you by a clear blue lake,
crawling upon a rusted rake
You looked much like a fuzzy snake
It's my mistake, it's my mistake
I fed you drops of purple dye
when you were young and could not fly
There is no other alibi
I cannot lie, I cannot lie
I watched you sleep in your cocoon
Sang lullabies of Moon and June
Gave you rides in a silver spoon
I'd sometimes swoon, I'd sometimes swoon
Then something happened overnight
You sprouted wings and took to flight
I jumped for joy at this strange sight
I felt delight, I felt delight
It's safe to say you don't look bad
Your wings are small; for that, I'm sad
Please forgive me and don't be mad
I'm such a cad, I'm such a cad
Perhaps someday you'll understand
that life is fun and love is grand
Your purple wings will help you land
on rock or sand, on rock or sand
You are the cutest butterfly
that flaps her wings up in the sky
I'm sorry if I made you cry
Don't say goodbye, don't say goodbye
